Who we are

PuzzleYYC is a community-driven puzzle movement based in Mohkinstsis (Calgary), Treaty 7 territory. The site is operated under MZM Labs (Pheak Meas, sole proprietor, Calgary, Alberta, Canada). For privacy questions, contact hello@puzzleyyc.com.

What we collect

PuzzleYYC is a volunteer-run information site. We collect only what you provide and what's needed to operate the site:

• Sign-up form data — when you sign up to volunteer or stay informed: your name, email, optional Calgary quadrant, and your indicated areas of involvement.
• Cookies — see our Cookie Policy. Essential cookies only by default; analytics and marketing only with your consent.
• Email content — emails you send to hello@puzzleyyc.com, retained while needed to reply.

Why we collect it

To coordinate volunteer events, communicate launch updates to people who asked for them, and improve the site. Legal basis under GDPR: consent (Article 6(1)(a)).

Who we share it with

We use third-party services to operate PuzzleYYC. Each is bound by their own privacy policy:

• Cloudflare — site hosting and DNS (US/global)
• Sign-up form processor — to be confirmed once we go live; will be added here before any submission

We never sell, rent, or trade your data.

How long we keep it

Sign-up data: kept while you wish to receive updates. You can request deletion anytime. Email correspondence: kept for two years then deleted unless still active. Cookies: per our Cookie Policy.

Where it's stored

Cloudflare global edge network, with primary processing typically in the US/Canada. We do not knowingly route data outside the European Economic Area without Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data (right to erasure)
• Export your data (portability)
• Object to or restrict processing
• Withdraw consent at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@puzzleyyc.com with "Privacy request" in the subject. We aim to respond within 30 days.

How to complain

If you believe we have mishandled your data and have not addressed it satisfactorily, you may file a complaint with:

• Canada: Office of the Privacy Commissioner — priv.gc.ca
• EU/UK: your local supervisory authority

Children's data

PuzzleYYC is open to all ages, but we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13 without a parent's consent. Family events involve adults registering on behalf of their families. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13 without consent, please contact hello@puzzleyyc.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The effective date above will change when material updates ship. If you've shared an email with us, we'll notify you of material changes.
